Wacom launches the first “universal” Wacom AES stylus

Scritto da Giacomo Fumagalli. Pubblicato in News, News and Articles

Wacom launches the new Wacom Bamboo Smart “for select tablets and 2-in-1″, the first “universal” stylus for Tablet PC with Wacom Active Electro-Static (AES) digitizer.

Wacom announces the new Bamboo Smart Stylus for Windows, the first “universal” stylus for Tablet PCs with Wacom AES digitizer.

Introduced last year with the Toshiba Encore 2 Write and recently integrated in several devices from Dell, HP, Lenovo and Toshiba, the Wacom AES technology uses battery-powered styluses that are pretty hard to find – for example, Toshiba didn’t sell replacement pens.

The new Bamboo Smart Stylus for Windows is very similar to the Baboo Smart Stylus for Samsung devices that uses Wacom EMR technology – but the new Windows solution is heavier (19 grams versus 13, because of the AAAA battery) and offers two side buttons for right-click and eraser. With a diameter of 9.5 mm and a length of 130 mm (cap included), the Wacom Bamboo Smart Stylus for Windows offers interchangeable pen tips for a more natural and personal writing experience.

According to Wacom, the new stylus is compatible with Dell Venue 10 Pro (5055), Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga Mobile Workstation, HP Elite x2 1012 G1 and Toshiba dynaPad N72 – but the list should be incomplete.

The “Bamboo Smart Stylus for select tablets and 2-in-1″ is available since now for $39.95.
