Taiwan-based Samwell Group introuced the RUGGEDBOOK 752, a rugged Tablet PC with quad-core Intel Celeron “Bay Trail” processor and a sunlight-readable 10.4 or 9.7-inch screen.
Introduced in 2013, the Samwell RUGGEDBOOK 750 series gain its third upgrade, with the availability of the new Celeron-powered RUGGEDBOOK 752.
Based on a 10.4-inch screen with passive-resistive digitizer and stylus support (but it is also available with a finger-oriented passive-capacitive digitizer on a 9.7-inch screen) the new Samwell Tablet PC is a rugged Tablet PC for vertical users.
The RUGGEDBOOK 752 uses the same 28mm-tall magnesium/ABS chassis of its predecessors, and so it respond to MIL-STD-810G standars for drop, shock and vibration; the thickness allows the presence of a large number of dust-and-water protected (IP54) ports: USB 3.0, three USB 2.0, RS232, RJ45 Gigabit LAN, VGA, audio in/out and a docking connector are backed by the on-board WiFi 802.11b/g/n module with Bluetooth 4.0 support. Barcode scanner, 3G/HSUPA WWAN, GPS and RFID reader are also available.
The quad-core Celeron N2930 processor don’t allows a large battery life – the user should have 7 hours of work time with two battery – but it is twice more powerful compared to the “standard” Atom Z3735 used in 10-inch consumer Tablet PCs.
