Very interesting rumors about the launch of the Surface Pro 4 are coming from the milanese marketing and retail world: the new professional-oriented Microsoft Tablet PC is expected to arrive in Italy on August 28th, exactly one year after the launch of the Surface Pro 3.
The Surface Pro 4 is (finally) coming. Currently there are no indications of any kind from Redmond, but for sure some people connected with the Italian Microsoft headquarters are working on someting.
Beacuse of the incoming summer break – and therefore the need to do now the work that can’t be done next month – the clues are becoming more and more numerous – and they are all pointing towards a well-defined day: August 28th. It is, of course, an un-official “between the lines” clue but it appears confirmed from several different, unconnected sources. It it possible that it’ll be not the Surface Pro 4, it might be it and something other – but almost certainly Microsoft Italy will launch something important in late August.
Making a few calculations, the date of August, 28th would be perfect for the launch of a new Surface. The new units would have plenty of time to be produced and shipped (at the time the final version of Windows 10 is still missing: the new Surface, that for sure will arrive with Windows 10 pre-installed on the hard drive, cannot be assembled until the RTM and therefore it will not be launched globally on July 29 in conjunction with the new operating system – maybe it is possible a limited US launch with a few thousand units) and an August release would also allow Microsoft to put the new sixth-generation Intel Core CPUs on the device (Core i3-6100U, Core i5-6200U and Core i7-6500U). Additionaly, the new Intel processors may be a temporary Microsoft exclusive (similar to what happened with the Atom x7 for the Surface 3).
Clues and rumors – but significantly active and realistic.
