The organizing committee of the Workshop on the Impact of Pen and Touch Technology in Education (WIPTTE) announces the dates of the tenth annual workshop on the educational use of the Tablet PC, which will be held from March 31 to April 2, 2016 at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.
The tenth edition of WIPTTE is already official: less than a month after the ninth edition, hosted by Microsoft at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, the organizing committee of the leading independent seminars on the educational use of the pen-and-touch devices starts to work behind the curtains, formalizing dates and locations.
If the latest editions of the WIPTTE were not particulary comfortable for European attendees – the WIPTTE 2013 was in Los Angeles (Pepperdine University); the WIPPTE 2014 was in College Station (Texas A&M University); the WIPTTE 2015 was in Seattle/Redmond (Microsoft Campus) – the tenth edition will be held in the vicinity of Boston, at Brown University in Providence (Rhode Island) and therefore easily accessible from Europe.
Independent, but always followed and sponsored by companies like Microsoft, Wacom, Intel, Toshiba, Fujitsu, PDF Annotator and DyKnow, the seminar allows teachers and students from schools, colleges and universities to meet, exchange ideas, proposing to international community the results of the latest research and spreading – through the extensive use of live activity – the so-called “good practices”. The theme for the tenth WIPTTE is “Pen and touch in 2016: connecting ideas”.
With the definition of dates is also started the “call for papers”, addressed to all interested persons who want to show their experiences and research in the use of educational pen-and-touch Technologies. The first deadline, for full papers, is set at October30, 2015; the poster deadline is January 29, 2016.
More information is available on the official WIPTTE website.
